The Tower at Aberdour Castle is the best preserved 12th century secular stone architecture in Scotland. Explore the Walled Garden, the series of terraces to the south and the 16th century dovecot, shaped as a beehive.

Edzell Castle was developed into a courtyard Castle by the Crawford Lindsays in the 16th century. To the south of the courtyard is one of the finest Renaissance Walled Gardens or pleasance in Scotland.

The King's Knot lies below Stirling Castle off the Dumbarton Road. It compromises an octagonal stepped mound rising to 3m high with a rectangular parterre to the south-east.
