Battersea Park, London

Battersea Park is situated on the south bank of the River Thames opposite Chelsea and was opened in 1858. It is free to enter and is open to the public from 10.00am until 5.30pm during the Spring and Summer and in the Autumn/Winter from 10.00am until 4.30pm or dusk.

What other park in London has views over the River Thames, an art gallery, an exhibition centre, a children’s zoo, an adventure playground, a Peace Pagoda, a bandstand, a boating lake, sports facilities and a few hidden secrets?

Perhaps because it’s not a Royal Park – it’s owned by the London Borough of Wandsworth – it has had the freedom to change and develop.
