The Italian Garden is centred around a formal pool surrounded in the summer by pots filled with geranium and agapanthus. The Lower Terrace has several unusual trees and shrubs including Discaria discolour.
Explore the Round Dell. Created by Sophie Walker in 2019, it symbolises a boat ‘slicing into the sub-tropical’ garden. The Dell reflects Walker’s interest in wilderness and how we respond to it.
Sit for a while in The Garden of Allah – a tranquil corner of the garden with magnolias and camellias.
Stroll along the Long or Paradise Walk and enjoy the new plantings devised by James Alexander-Sinclair.
Don’t miss the Jewel Box in the Long Dell. An impenetrable box, with portholes to spy what’s growing within. Originally designed by Gabrielle Evans for RHS Hampton Court, 2015, this installation is by Jade Goto.
