Goddards House and Garden

The five-acre town garden was designed for Noel and Kathleen Terry of Terry’s confectionary. There are views from the garden over the racecourse to the site of the old Terry’s factory.

The garden is divided into different rooms. Below the terrace and near the herbaceous borders is the lily pond in the shape of a cross.

Explore the area away from the house and discover the rock garden, working greenhouse near the vegetable garden and orchard.

Recent work on restoring the fragrant garden using the original 1928 design.

Goddards was bought by the National Trust in 1984 to use as regional offices.

There’s only accessible parking at Goddards.

The garden is open on a couple of days a week during the open season.
