Goldstone Hall Hotel and Gardens

Goldstone Hall Gardens are mature, immaculate and intriguingly designed, including formal and informal planting, encapsulating the essence of a quintessential English garden. Set in five-acre grounds overlooking the tree-strewn, patchwork fields of the North Shropshire countryside in the lee of Goldstone Hill – known locally as the ‘Golden Garden Triangle’ – there is also Georgian Manor House with restaurant and 12 comfortable bedrooms.

From March, visitors can enjoy the walled garden with its long, double tiered herbaceous borders, including seasonal perennial planting schemes and a sweeping lawn which leads down to the beginnings of a wildflower garden.

From June, the rose terrace provides a well-protected Summer lunch spot which overlooks the walled garden. The rose bushes are a mix of old varieties which give continuation of flowering through to September.

Summer heralds the bounty of Goldstone’s one acre kitchen garden – one of the largest and most productive hotel kitchen gardens in the U.K – with unique and enchanting herbal walkways which underpins the delivery of a restaurant celebrating the best of seasonally grown, preserved and locally sourced produce.

Also the later summer cutting garden and short woodland walk are enjoyable elements to the garden.

Enjoy a seasonally inspired lunch or a delicious afternoon tea in the Hotel.

The gardens are open every Monday to Thursday from the end of March until the end of October – for more information, visit the Goldstone Hall Hotel and Gardens website.

RHS Members visit for free when the gardens are open.
