The gardens have been extensively redesigned by Xa Tollemache, garden designer and winner of a Chelsea Gold Medal.
Explore the Parterre with its yew domes, box hedging and seasonal planting. Beyond is the Hybrid Musk Garden planted in 1965 by Dinah, Lady Tollemache.
Discover the Walled Kitchen Garden with its spectacular herbaceous borders. Two bridges lead out of the Walled Garden – one to the Apple Walk and the other to the Wild Flower Garden.
The Knot Garden was created in 1982. It has two knot patterns planted in box and interfilled with herbs and plants introduced into Britain before 1750.
Other features include the Rose Garden, the Orchard and Spring and Summer borders.
The gardens are open on several days of the week between May and September – check the website for details.
