Holker
Framed by the Lakeland Hills, the spectacular formal gardens have been developed by each generation of the Cavendish family.
In the Spring enjoy the magnificent display of tulips, daffodils, wallflowers, rhododenrons and magnolias.
In Summer the beds are overflowing with shrubs, herbaceous perennials and annuals.
There are several walks through the gardens. Look out for the 400 year old Great Holker Lime Tree, the Cascade and Burlington fountain and Pagan Grove.
Don’t miss The Labyrinth in the Wildflower Meadow. Designed by Jim Buchanan, it’s ‘a peaceful place for reflection’.
Holker Hall has many unusual and rare plants including a National Collection of Styracaceae.
And in the Spring watch out for the Fairies and Trolls as they emerge from hibernation.
It is now the home of Lucy Cavendish and her husband Tor McLaren.
