Morland House Gardens
Open throughout the year, the four acre landscaped gardens are centred around Morland Beck.
In front of the house is a wide lawn leading to the formal garden. Discover the kitchen garden, the beautiful herbaceous borders and the rose garden with a sundial and views to the Pennines.
Cross the Beck and explore the ‘wild’ garden with waterfalls and the grotto hidden in the quarry garden. There is also a standing stone in memory of Canon Gervase Markham.
In January and February, enjoy the snowdrops and aconites followed by daffodils and tulips in April and May. The Rose Garden is at its best in June while the herbaceous borders are in flower from late May until October.
Some steep steps with parts of the ‘wild’ garden difficult to access.
Nearby is the Mill Yard Cafe which serves excellent food and drink – check the website for opening times as at time of writing, it’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
