Winners of the Garden of the Year Award from HHA and Christies in 2015.

Stunning herbaceous borders, rose and clematis gardens and a collection of hardy and exotic plants.

The gardens are divided into different areas with typically curious names – the First Candle Garden, the Second Candle Garden, the Swimming Pool, the Ballroom and the Half Moon Garden.

Meander through the woods to the lakes and the Gothic archway and a classical temple to Diana.

The house is now lived in by Alexandra Sitwell, the great-granddaughter of Sir George Sitwell, and her husband Rick Hayward and their family.

The gardens are usually open from Friday until Sunday.

Historic Houses members and RHS members visit for free.
