Wentworth Castle Gardens

Glorious gardens, woodland and parkland with several garden buildings including the Conservatory, the Sun Monument, the Rotunda and a monument to the Duke of Argyle.

Discover an early example of a folly built as a gothick mock castle, the Union Jack Garden and the surrounding Parkland which reflects Yorkshire’s industrial heritage.

The Vernon-Wentworth’s sold the house and gardens to Barnsley Council in 1948.
