A highly enjoyable book illustrating the gardens of twenty-five of the UKs leading artists including Rupert Everett, Julian Fellowes, Jeremy Irons, Anish Kapoor, Cath Kidston, Prue Leith, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cameron Mackintosh [I’m lucky enough to have visited this amazing garden] Ozzy Osbourne and Sting. We learn about the artists’ passions and their reasons for creating their own ‘Private Sanctuaries’. It was included by David Sexton in the Evening Standard’s Best Gardening Books of 2017: ‘a terrifically rewarding bit of armchair garden visiting, not to say spying by invitation’.
